CHEMICAL PEEL
Chemical peeling is a procedure in which chemical substances are applied to the skin to remove the top layers. The skin grows back smoother, with a brighter and regenerated appearance.
It is a safe and well-tolerated peeling treatment that produces mild to moderate skin exfoliation and can be performed at any time of year. However, schedule the procedure at a time when redness, peeling, swelling, and changes in skin pigmentation (the main adverse effects) will not interrupt your social obligations.
Recommended treatment: 4 to 6 sessions with monthly intervals. For maintenance of results, sessions every 2 to 3 months are recommended. Each session lasts approximately 45 minutes.
Medical chemical peels involve exfoliating the skin with various chemical substances formulated according to the patient's goals. Depending on the depth at which they act on the skin, they can be superficial, medium, or deep. Superficial peels reach the stratum corneum and even the superficial dermis; medium peels reach the papillary dermis and even the reticular dermis; and deep peels penetrate to the reticular dermis, causing anything from a very mild, almost imperceptible peeling to a deep peel that requires several days of recovery.
