BOTULINUM TOXIN

or muscle neuromodulator

The muscle neuromodulator, botulinum toxin, or Botox® (a registered trademark), is one of the oldest injectable treatments in aesthetic medicine and one of the most performed worldwide. The neuromodulator is extracted from toxins released by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, which at the muscular level manages to block nerve transmission at the neuromuscular junction, temporarily limiting muscle contraction.

This treatment has several therapeutic medical applications (treatment of asymmetries due to facial paralysis, hyperhidrosis, among others) and cosmetic applications. At this level, its injection into specific facial muscles allows for the relaxation of expression lines and the reduction of wrinkles that are already pronounced at rest.

Through specific anatomical knowledge, injection techniques, and knowledge of the product and appropriate dosage, natural results can be guaranteed.
